• Teri Morris

Founder and Lead Trainer at ImpulseHub, former Health 2.0 Dublin Chapter Leader

  • I work with small businesses and entrepreneurs to help them in this new world of work. I help them grow their business through the use of technology and by bringing out the best in their company. I've learned so much through my own business and IT experiences. Now it's my time to give back.

  • EXPERIENCE

I moved into Health IT and software development in 2011 and went on to found the Dublin Chapter of Health 2.0 in 2012. I am an Agile Certified Practitioner and have been working in Information Technology since I joined IBM in1984. I love combining my two favourite interests: health/wellness and technology.

    Founder and Lead Trainer

    Aug 2016 - present

After having worked in business and with startups for many years, I started this new digital marketing company. Part business coaching, I focus on helping clients use technology to grow their business. I do this through website design and development, training, and one on one consultancy. With this new role, I use my knowledge of technology, business and marketing to help startups and small businesses. I am particularly interested in helping health and wellness companies. I think there should be much more promotion of health and wellness and, if I can help with that, I will.

    YouSteps

    Founder

    Jan 2011 – Sep 2013

In 2011, I founded YouSteps to help people find a personal path to health. This was my first software startup and I wore multiple hats -- including project manager, product owner and product manager.

I worked with the team on product design, market research, funding, product development and testing. I put together a successful feasibility study and business case. I also blogged on a regular basis and helped with the team's social media marketing efforts.

The experience I gained was invaluable -- not only in software development but in health, wellness and behaviour change. These skills have already helped me personally and are key assets professionally as well.

    ACS (now Xerox)

Team Lead Capacity Planning Midrange Group

    Jan 2007 – Sep 2009

I led a team of eight in a cross-functional, traditional project management role implementing capacity planning across mid-range servers based on ISO20K and ITIL standards. I was client-facing and the main contact for third party vendors.

My team on-boarded new customers to a capacity planning ITIL environment. Customers were set up for ITIL capacity planning, monitoring and reporting. We analysed their requirements, arranged hardware and software as needed (including database and network changes), prepared monthly reports and organised monthly reviews. We worked with 23 US national and multi-national clients.

As team lead, I organised procedures to streamline on-boarding time and costs which made huge improvements to the operational environment. This resulted in 30% greater client support whilst using our existing team, a 50% reduction in on-boarding labour costs, an 80% reduction in outages, and processing improvement times of 50 to 75%.

Clients received reports on time and processing errors dropped significantly resulting in improved customer satisfaction across the board.

I oversaw all aspects of the company including Sales, Finance, Staff and Health and Safety. In 2004, I was selected as one of 20 "Winning Women" by Checkout Ireland, a major trade publication for the FMCG industry.

I organised product launches and key marketing events and was responsible for communicating product messages internally and to customers.

Before this I was a systems engineer helping customers with ICT solutions in software, hardware and storage. I led or advised customers in product selection, implementation, project management, operations support and training.
